General Information

We are merely a group of guys who have decided to organize tennis matches at the Bakersfield Racquet Club on a regular basis.

We use the Internet and e-mail to determine who wishes to play on the days and times established for our matches.

Our goal is to achieve an even number committed to playing so that no single person has to sit out or be rotated into the matches.  Therefore, if the last person to sign up on our web site represents an uneven number, he must either encourage someone else to sign up or not play himself.

There are times when someone who previously committed himself to play finds it necessary to drop out.  In such cases, this person is required to make every effort to find a substitute via our web site, e-mail or some other means.

Our group is by no means "exclusive," but anyone new must be invited to join the group via the coordinator.  To make our tennis fun and competitive, players must be, at a minimum, near the 4.0 or higher level.

Every week an e-mail message is sent to group members inviting them to sign up for our Wednesday and Friday matches via our web sites whose links are identified on the left panel.

Web Sites for Sign Up

You don't have to register or sign in to access these sites. As you will see, QuickTopic is a free, extremely easy discussion space. To make this system work for us, you should choose to receive email for newly posted messages -- just click the Subscribe button when you get there. In this way, you will be kept current on what is going on via email.  The only time you have to access the sites is when you want to post a message yourself.

Contact our coordinator, Lynn Bender, for further information.
